Hasanuddin University School of Public Health Presents Professor from Stanford University in the Top Scientist Webinar Series
The Hasanuddin University School of Public Health (FKM Unhas) hosted the Top Scientist Webinar Series which presented Prof. Stephen Luby from Stanford University, California.
This webinar raises the topic “Future Research Priorities on Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and Human Health”.
The Dean of FKM Unhas Prof. Sukri Palutturi, SKM MKes MScPH PhD in his remarks thanked Prof. Stephen Luby for his willingness to present material in this webinar.
Prof. Stephen Luby has also collaborated as a researcher in the RISE program in Makassar City which is a collaborative research with various parties including FKM Unhas.

“Hopefully this activity can encourage further collaboration in the field of education and research in the future between FKM Unhas and Stanford University,” said the Dean of FKM Unhas.
On the same occasion the Deputy Chancellor for Partnership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Business Prof. Dr. Eng Ir Adi Maulana St Mphil said that this activity was part of Hasanuddin University’s World Class University program to strengthen future collaboration, especially with researchers at the World’s Top Universities.
This webinar activity was attended by more than 100 participants and moderated by Ansariadi, PhD as Director of Partnerships at Hasanuddin University.
In the webinar Prof. Stephen Luby said that Water Sanitation and Hygiene is still a global problem that must be addressed.
“Because the impact of this problem is environmental-based diseases, especially Fecal Oral diseases,” he explained.
As the conclusion of the material presented, Prof. Stephen Luby invites us to think about research priorities in the future to reduce fecal pollution in dense urban environments, what are the technical and institutional approaches to be able to solve this environmental sanitation problem.
